Hi Dr.Will, I really enjoyed listening to the audio version of your post. Please keep it going!

Audio version can be listened to even while running, so it makes the post more accessible.

Wishing for a Synthetic track to be built in Rotorua some day. I'll def meet you on the Night of 5s. I finished 4th in the mixed/open group last year, and I'm looking to run in the D group this year.

I have been using running power on and off, but just using Garmin HRM Pro. Is Stryd worth the extra hassle?

Hey Shiva, congrats on the sub 3 at Auckland!

Stryd is a great investment if you're interested in using running power now or in the future. One reason is that regardless of your watch, you'll always get a consistent power reading with Stryd. If you go from getting power from the HRM-Pro to a new Garmin with wrist based running power or different brand watch, your power numbers won't be comparable. It's not a lot of extra hassle because once you connect the Stryd to your watch, it's just like a HRM in that the data will automatically pull through to your app.

Thank you Dr. Will. I didn't know that the power reading from HRM pro would be different from Stryd's reading. Besides even though my watch supports wrist based power, I've had some buggy power readings from it in the past. The Stryds monthly membership is what discouraged me from investing in it. Do you currently subscribe to a Stryd plus membership, or are you happy with their base free tier?
